Brother Halden's life began as a street urchin, surrounded by unsavory characters throughout his teenage years. He worked as a hired enforcer for some of the city's most notorious merchants and gang bosses, often engaging in "shake down" jobs to collect overdue debts from reluctant business owners. One such job took him to a local sculptor's workshop, where he was tasked with retrieving unpaid rent. However, when the sculptor refused to cooperate and tensions escalated, a loud explosion rocked the back room, sending a massive clay golem bursting through the wall and annihilating Halden's two associates. Just as the golem was about to strike him down, the god of clay intervened, solidifying the creature and causing it to self-destruct like an overcooked vase, thereby preventing its use as a deadly instrument. This pivotal moment shook Halden to his core, forcing him to confront the reality that gods were not mere myths, but living, breathing beings worthy of reverence. Henceforth, he became consumed by a thirst for knowledge about these divine entities, embarking on a lifelong quest to understand their nature and purposes. Now, an unwavering faith in the gods guides Halden's actions as a crusading missionary, dedicated to guiding others toward enlightenment and redemption – or else risking a solid smiting courtesy of his trusty mace!
