A set of two lo-fi monsters for Astrabellum, a tabletop strategy game. The giant bugs are armed with only their claws and their mandibles, whilst their riders each have an improvised weapon. The Jaekorex are quick, tough and strong, if not entirely clever. They are prospectors and diggers, rooting out valuable materials in Venus's mountain ranges. They are formiddable in battle, scuttling across the terrain to deliver powerful blows with their sharp claws and vicious bites with their savage jaws. Beneath Venus’ opaque yellow clouds lies a verdant jungle of purple-leafed trees, vast fertile valleys and murky pink oceans. The Parliament established a research outpost on Venus in its early days of expansion, but after a few months all contact with the colony was lost. A search-and-rescue party found nothing but abandoned equipment and empty laboratories. A second research mission vanished just as mysteriously. When a full company of Parliamentary soldiers investigated, they eventually found the lost colonists - riding atop the backs of enormous Venusian insects. The troops sent a description of what they had seen back to Earth, but their ship never left the surface of Venus, and all souls were deemed lost. Following this disaster, the Parliament placed a quarantine on Venus, forbidding further travel there. These STL files are scaled to 35mm (1:52) but can be scaled to 28mm by simply resizing the models in your slicing software to 80% of their original size. These models have been designed for the Astrabellum tabletop strategy game, but are suitable for use with any sci-fi game, or just as collectibles!
