2x4 Basics Shelf Bracket
prusaprinters
The motivation for this project was just to prove to myself that it could be done. I haven't seen any other models of this online. I'm not really a fan of the “just buy them” argument if I have the means and knowledge to make it myself and do it cheaper. GOAL #1: To make a 3D printable model of the “2x4 Basics Shelflink” system that allows you to create shelves, benches, tool carts, etc. out of 2x4 lumber. GOAL #2: To make the 3D printed version match the strength of the original product as closely as possible. Will need to support static loads of ~50-150lbs (arbitrary) when used in pairs.Resistant to shear and torsion GOAL #3: To make the cost of printing equivalent to the original product ($6/unit)GOAL #4: Modify design to further decrease printing cost without sacrificing strength. I've managed to cross off goal #1 and goal #3 (based on cost calculation post-slicing with PLA/+ at $15-20/spool)I have yet to print this model as it is too large to print in one piece in the strongest orientation on my Neptune 3 Plus. Until I get a larger printer, I intend to work on a split model that will not sacrifice strength or cost.
