I was shocked to discover that no functional 2x2x2 Cube design existed on Thingiverse. Determined to create one, I soon found an affordable clone and sat down to attempt making a genuine 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube in FreeCAD. To build this cube, print a single base piece, three center caps, seven corner stones, and nine inner sides. Refer to the accompanying images for assembly instructions. To assemble the cube, you will need three M3x16 bolts/screws to secure the center caps to the base. The original cube I examined and disassembled featured springs to pre-load the center caps. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20% Notes: The Base piece proved particularly challenging to clean up after printing, due to the extensive support required throughout.
