2X2 Dowel Jig

I built this jig to make creating dowel joints with 3/8" dowel on 2x2s easy for my kids' ladder and railing for built-in bunk beds. One end of the jig fits onto the end of a 2x2, while the other side attaches along the side of your second piece so the holes align perfectly. The inner diameter is based on precise measurements taken with calipers, which revealed that my 2x2s have an actual diameter of about 1.4 inches, not the standard 1.5 inches. This jig has limited uses when printed with PLA since the drill bit will gradually enlarge the hole over time, unless you're using a drill press to maintain accuracy.
