2S15 Norov Tank Destroyer (Russia)
thingiverse
Russia pioneered radar range finding as a substitute for lasers in the 1950-60s. This innovative technology was adapted to the 100mm anti-tank gun and combined with the MT-LB chassis, resulting in the 2S15 Norov lightweight tank destroyer design. However, events overtook this project, leaving it as a prototype only, yet it remains an intriguing model. This is a 1:76 scale replica of that design, utilizing the hull already available on the 2S1 Gvozdika platform. The turret and gun are newly created, based on the limited number of photographs available. The gun mount is significantly smaller than on the 2S1, and the radar boxes have been added, along with a new barrel. The model prints well, although some filing may be necessary to ensure proper fitment of the elevating barrel assembly due to printing limitations; the design is essentially accurate. Dowel alignment has not been included, but it might be beneficial. If you experience any issues while printing this model, please let me know. I hope this replica will spark your interest.
