2nd Mass. Sharpshooters Monument - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
thingiverse
Two companies of Massachusetts sharpshooters fought as independent units attached to other commands, a rare occurrence in the American Civil War. The 2nd Company of Governor Andrews' sharpshooters was part of the 22nd Massachusetts Infantry during the Gettysburg Campaign. Their distinctive monument stands on Sickles Avenue in an area known as "The Loop," located at the south end of the battlefield adjacent to the Wheatfield. How It Was Created Composed from iPhone shots, the design was brought to life through the desktop version of 123dcatch. Further edits were made using Meshmixer to refine and perfect the model, including healing, sealing, and flattening the bottom for a more stable base. I have included both the full 15mb original STL file and a reduced version that is likely more suitable for slicing and printing, as Cura seems to struggle with larger file sizes.
