2nd Gen Chevy Volt iPhone Holder

2nd Gen Chevy Volt iPhone Holder

The inductive charger nestled in the center armrest of the second-generation Volt is a thoughtful addition, but it renders the phone somewhat less functional. So I reimagined TheAdmrl's exceptional iPhone holder to accommodate a charging pad. Scaling up the design also enables it to seamlessly press-fit into the opening in the center console. To achieve a tighter fit, I beveled both ends of the holder. I gained significant insight about TinkerCad while working on this project, but unfortunately, I wasn't skilled enough to fill in the channels for the lifters in the original design, so this should be printed with supports everywhere. The PLA version warped significantly over time before even reaching the heat of summer; therefore, I recommend using ABS or PETG. Incidentally, my iPhone X is encased in a Tech21 case. The charging pad used is an Upow S3, which appears to be no longer available through Amazon. However, any pad with a diameter of 3.0 inches or less should function adequately. Alternatively, you could opt out of the charging pad altogether...
