2D Eye Mechanism
thingiverse
The servo bracket, ball bracket and assembly mount come together with 1.5 mm spring wire, shrink tubing, and a pair of SG51R servos to create a 2D eye pointing assembly. To complete the assembly, you'll need to acetone bond a trimmed Hobby Lobby plastic eyeball to the ball bracket. The ball chuck is employed, along with some double face tape, to hold the Hobby Lobby plastic eyballs in place for cutting on a lathe. A link gage is used to check the form, length and bends of the links made from 0.75 mm wire. The link assembly fixture serves as a tool to position the links while the shrink tubing is heated. The hold knife holder is used in combination with a centering pin and x-acto knife blade to cut holes for the eye to peek through. The remaining parts are designed for making eye assembly mounts and taking measurements of them. For more details, see this project: https://makershare.com/projects/creepy-pumpkin
