2D/3D Parametric Slim Wallet for 3D Printer/CNC Router/Laser
thingiverse
I was drawn to a variety of slim wallets on Thingiverse, OpenBuilds, and Etsy, including https://www.etsy.com/listing/267073299/wood-slim-walnut-minimalist-wallet-wood, so I decided to create my own. The file defaults to 3d view and no logo because that is what the online customizer can handle (in case you want to modify any of the measurements) but if you download the file, you can export a 2d file (SVG/DXF/etc) for CNC routing or add a DXF logo (I had a SVG file and downloaded the Inkscape plugin https://github.com/brad/Inkscape-OpenSCAD-DXF-Export as recommended at https://bohumirzamecnik.cz/blog/2016/how-to-make-stl-with-svg-logo-and-text-in-openscad/) to make customizations. The wallet printed above was made with ABS and epoxy used to fill in the logo. The routed wallets were cut out of a $1 bamboo cutting board that could be found at the Dollar Tree for about 9 days before they sold out nationwide. The engraving font used was free from the bottom of https://mr-clipart.com/int/freestuff.php. The bands for all the wallets were purchased 12 for $1 at the Dollar Tree (6 silver, 6 navy blue). Update: I added a portrait style .stl by swapping the card_width and card_length values.
