The Flak-Vierling 38 served as a top defense against low-flying aircraft and frequently found its way into anti-aircraft towers, armored trains, and heavily fortified anti-aircraft positions. This versatile weapon also proved effective in land combat situations, requiring only the installation of an extra protective shield for emergency use. As part of their upgrades, nearly all Navy ships - including submarines - gradually integrated the quads. The Flak-Vierling 38 was manufactured at three separate facilities: Ostmarkwerk in Vienna, Auto Union in Chemnitz, and Benteler in Bielefeld. Initially priced at 20,000 RM, it proved a worthwhile investment for many military units.
