2AA Battery Box with Switch
thingiverse
A battery box for two AA batteries fitted with a slide switch and utilizing standard battery contact plates, measuring 25 x 12.7 mm, with approximately 15 mm terminal spacing. The photographs showcase my initial version, which employed countersunk screws to secure the switch from above; this necessitated modifying the switch by removing threads and then countersinking holes. Required components for assembly include: * Base and lid * Two battery contact plates, measuring 25 x 12.5 mm, such as Keystone 5212. One of the plates should be cut in two for use at the switch end; alternatively, two separate plates can be used. I utilized salvaged plates that were stored in my spare parts box. * A miniature slide switch with a 19 mm hole spacing and M2 threads, like Knitter-Switch MFS131D. * Four M2 x 6 countersunk screws to secure the lid (minimum length of 6 mm, can be up to 10 mm long), such as M2 CSK Pozi Stainless Steel. * Two M6 x 10 countersunk screws for the slide switch (length is crucial), like M2 CSK Pozi Stainless Steel. * Cable suitable for intended use, I utilize a piece of 5m Servo Wire 26awg Futaba JR 3-Pin (with the white cable stripped off).
