This is our first package of our officially licensed Traveller Starship Miniatures. This initial release includes a total of 14 starships, seven each in two different scales. The ships, which featured most prominently in the Traveller Role-Playing Game are based on the works of Ian Stead and have been beautifully rendered in 3D printable form. We have designed the starship miniatures to print in two scales. The first, ”1:270” scale, was popularised by the X-Wing tabletop dogfighting game, and these versions of the ships are scaled accurately to each other. They make for great display pieces, and while large on the table, are not so large as to be impractical. The second scale is ”Tactical scale”, which scales the ships down to fit on a 1 inch hex base stand. The miniatures are not in scale to each other, but these are of a practical size to be played on a one-inch hex map for tactical combat. The ships feature a variety of popular classic Traveller designs, most originally visualised by Ian Stead, aside from our own Murphy-class Type S Scout/Courier (both versions of the Type S have been provided for collectors). From merchant vessels to system patrol boats and mercenary cruisers, they range in size from 100 to 800 d-tons (as per the Traveller rules). You will need a 3D printer or print service in order to print the parts. The parts have been designed with both FDM (filament) printers and SLA (liquid resin) printers in mind. FDM versions are optimised for printing at 150 microns (0.15 mm layer height) using PLA. Resin versions have been pre-supported and unsupported versions are available.
