Intended to replace outdated models from far past millennia, the GMG-42, named for dawn of the new galactic millennia, is a belt-fed General Purpose Machine Gun used for both fending off infantry from advancing on a vehicle as well as light anti-aircraft duty. Belts are fed from a fifty round drum on the side of the machine, greatly increasing the ammo capacity of older, top-mag operated units while an improved air cooled barrel allows for a higher sustained rate of fire. Had a lot of fun working on this one y'all, not gonna lie. Took a lot of inspiration from various MGs, including the MG34, AA-52 and many others. It is designed to work with 28mm scale vehicles and attached directly to commander's cupolas and hatches with two different styles of mounts. Also included are some spare drums and drum carrying crates for additional stowage variety.
