thingiverse
The Sd.Kfz. 234 (Special Purpose Vehicle 234) was a family of armoured cars designed and built by Germany during World War II. These vehicles were lightly armored, equipped with a 20, 50 or 75 mm main gun, and powered by a Tatra V12 diesel engine. The Sd.Kfz. 234 bears a strong resemblance to the appearance of Sd.Kfz. 231 (8 rad). The 234 chassis is actually what we identify as the Puma. This model, for instance, is identified as a "Pakwagen" with a 75mm PAK 40, while the 234/3 was indeed known as the "Stummel" with a 75mm K51. You are referring to what civilians commonly call the "Puma", which is actually a post-war name for the vehicle Sd.Kfz. 234/2 equipped with a 50mm gun mounted on a turret originally designed for the Leopard Panzer. The turret on the 234/2, along with the entire 234/1 chassis, bears similarities to other Aufklärungspanzer Sonderkraftfahrzeuge. During the war, however, neither of these vehicles was called "The Puma". It is acceptable to refer to any vehicle utilizing the Sd.Kfz. 234 chassis as a "Puma".
