28mm scale Normandy house
thingiverse
This is a revised version of Riordon's file that incorporates several modifications to enhance its features. Key changes include: * Opening the shuttered windows to provide clear views both inside and outside when the structure is in use. * Adding a ground-floor window on one side, which significantly increases the tactical options within the game. * Revising the chimney design to improve its printability. * Introducing stiles to some of the windows; however, please be cautious during cleaning as they may not survive this process. To mitigate this risk, I have increased their thickness, but I haven't yet printed a copy with these modifications. * Incorporating a brick texture to represent areas of broken exterior stucco, adding more realism to the structure. I resized the model to fit onto a slim 2mm CD jewel case, but in retrospect, I didn't need to worry about the base. This house model is surprisingly durable, far surpassing the durability of foam core, MDF, or foam-based buildings. The printing process was carried out using a coarse setting with 0.3mm layers, which resulted in a print time of 7 hours per floor. Despite the prolonged printing time, the end result was well worth it. For added variety, you can switch the model to its mirror image within your slicer software, allowing for multiple configurations of the structure.
