28mm Miniature Height Checker
thingiverse
After printing off some miniatures, I realized that my dwarves were excessively tall. To correct this issue, I created a handy tool. Simply drop it onto the build plate next to your model, and it will accurately measure its height in 28mm scale. Make sure to adjust for base height accordingly! In 28mm scale, one inch equals five feet (a 1:60 ratio), which means that the numbers are scaled as follows: One foot is equivalent to 5.08 millimeters. Two feet equal 10.16 millimeters (longsword). Three feet measure 15.24 millimeters (gnome). Four feet stand at 20.32 millimeters (halfling). Five feet reach a height of 25.40 millimeters (dwarf). Six feet stand tall at 30.48 millimeters (human, elf). Seven feet reach an impressive 35.56 millimeters (orc). Heights can vary depending on the lore you follow, whether it's D&D or LOTR, and so on. However, the above examples are generally acceptable. I hope this tool helps someone else out! If you're using a different scale, you can adjust the height chart accordingly: At 10mm, increase the height by 36%. At 12mm, boost the height by 43%. At 15mm, elevate the height by 54%. At 20mm, raise the height by 71%. At 25mm, jump to 89% of the original height. At 28mm, you're at a perfect scale of 100%. At 30mm, add an extra 7%. At 32mm, increase by 14%. At 35mm, boost the height by 25%. At 40mm, rise to 143%. At 54mm, reach an impressive 193%. The miniature shown is a slightly modified hobgoblin from Dutchmogul's Pocket Tactics line. I highly recommend checking out his work if you haven't already!
