I came across an awesome picture of a 28mm miniature stored in a dice box, but when I searched for a printable model, I couldn't find one that matched exactly what I saw. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and create one using Fusion 360 and some calipers. I started by rummaging through a Chessex dice box, carefully extracting the dice and setting them aside. Next, I cracked open the calipers and began measuring out the dimensions for my miniature holder. It was time to bring my design to life! The result is this fantastic miniature adapter that accepts a 6x2mm magnet, allowing your miniature to securely attach to the base instead of relying solely on friction. You can also opt to glue a 1" fender washer to the base of your miniature for added stability. I created two versions of the adapter - one for miniatures with round bases and another for those with square bases. This project is a great way to repurpose old dice boxes, making them into stylish protectors for your miniatures. After sharing my design online, someone pointed out a decorative plinth that fit perfectly over the cover of a dice case. However, it didn't quite meet my standards in terms of stability. I decided to modify it so that it snugly fits around the base of the dice box, adding an extra touch of style without compromising its functionality. The result is absolutely fantastic! Feel free to use this design as you see fit - it's completely optional, after all. Happy printing and gaming!
