28mm miniature Boat Tiles

This is a set of tiles to build sailing ships/boats for 28mm miniatures. A 1-inch grid is modeled into the tiles to help with gameplay. This uses a snap-together system for you to create ships as large or small as you like. Print out the tiles you want, print lots of connector pieces, then snap the connector pieces between the tiles until everything stays together. [UPDATE: Part 2 of this tileset is available here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2776283] Q: How well do these stay put? A: They're a little shaky, but not enough to ruin the game. You'll be able to push entire ships around without them falling apart. Picking up a ship is a delicate task Q: Do these need supports? A: Most of them do, yeah. I use Simplify3D, so I was able to pick and choose where the supports went; you might not be as lucky with free slicers. If you have something that lets you place your own supports, I recommend just leaving one pillar in the corner of the four corner connector holes instead of filling the whole thing; it'll bridge fine Q: What did you print these on? A: Printrbot Simple Metal, 1.7mm PLA, .3 layer height Q: What did you use to design these? A: TinkerCAD (https://www.tinkercad.com) Q: Wait, the sails aren't printed, right? A: We don't talk about #10 Q: Does the wheel spin? A: It should, though you'll have to carefully pull it out at first. It's print-in-place after all Q: What about a forecastle/sterncastle?
