28mm Defensive Stance Monk Miniature
thingiverse
I designed a miniature Monk for tabletop gaming that showcases a defensive stance. The model is not mine, but rather something I found at 123dapp.com: http://www.123dapp.com/123C-3D-Model/Monk-Defense-Stance/1102372. To prepare it for printing, I scaled the design to fit an approximate heroic size of 28mm and added a base that complements its look. It looks amazing at my weekly D&D game sessions. Print Settings: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Wilson Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .05 mm layer height and .25 mm nozzle Infill: 50% Notes: Place the model on its back, with the right upper arm parallel to the build plate. Using Cura, I generated grid supports throughout the design. Be sure to support the left arm as well. The print produced a lot of support material and rough surfaces on the back. To speed up the printing process, I rushed it a bit, but the back could have been smoother with more time. Special care must be taken when removing support material around the braid in the back.
