28BYJ-48 Gear for Camera Slider
thingiverse
This gear is designed to work seamlessly with the shorter shaft of the 28BYJ-48 stepper motor, perfect for a camera slider project. It will also work flawlessly in most other machine belt applications, offsetting the shorter shaft and adding an extra 2mm for superior belt tracking on a 6mm GT-2 belt design. The gear should be printed at 0.2 layer height, with 30% infill (minimum) and thick shells. Notably, it can be printed without supports, although this may result in a less-than-perfect upper lip; however, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, as the absence of supports yields better results than having them stuck to the gear. Another crucial point is that the fit is extremely tight, so I used a heat gun to warm the shaft (be cautious not to burn yourself) and pressed it in firmly. Alternatively, you could also use JB Weld for an even tighter fit, considering the significant force applied to the shorter shaft.
