Very few permanent structures will be found throughout the wide, wild grasslands of the Onishali homeland. The nomadic horse lords who make the Steppes of Onishali their home have no need for permanence in their daily lives. However, as generation after generation of warriors, queens, and soothsayers returned to one familiar ceremonial site—a massive ring of stone arches from a bygone civilization—they began to build upon it to create their own unique temple, the Caballus Onaravedi. Each of the 16 clans of the Onishali people are represented by the stone carvings and flags that adorn this holy place. Upon the death of the old queen, the leaders and accomplished warriors of each faction journey to the temple to attend the ceremonial crowning of their new sovereign by the nation’s eldest spiritual soothsayer.
