26800 Battery Charging Adapter

Hello, this is my 3D model which I created to charge a 26800 battery using an existing charger. The lower end of the model basically mimics an 18650 cell which sits inside of your charger. The top end is where the 26800 cell charges. Most chargers cannot properly fit a 26800 cell since it is too long.

The two halves simply come together once all the internal components (shown below in the parts list) are installed. The two locating features (male and female) are hollow to accommodate magnets which allow quick disassembly. However, in lieu of magnets, the two halves can just be glued together.

PC 1 and PC 2 of the STL files are halves of the two pieces. The only change being the male and female locating features used in assembly.

Parts List:

3 EA: ½ Copper Pipe End Caps. I got mine from Home Depot. I cut down the end cap that makes contact with the 26800, but it's not really necessary. The end cap in this location can be used with it's stock length. Doing so will allow the 26800 cell to be compressed more by the spring.

~1 foot or 12" of 20GA wire. You can run thinner wires here, but I wasn't sure how the current would flow with something smaller. These wires will be used to connect each end-pair together. In other words, one wire connects an end-cap to an end-cap. The other wire connects an end-cap to the spring.

1 EA compression spring: ¾" length, ½" small OD, and 5/16" OD. Wire gauge: 0.032". I got these from my local hardware store. You can use any spring that will fit in the opening. The ¾" length is what I consider to be the bare minimum length for this. Otherwise, there will be inadequate contact on the 26800 cell.

1 EA Flat Washer: This washer serves the purpose of being a base for the spring. I simply glued the spring to the washer. I forgot the size of the washer. I'll update when I get access to my CAD file.

Other bits: soldering equipment, wire strippers, glue (I like E6000 or epoxy).
