26" Aqueon Bowfront Aquarium Mesh Top

<p>My Aquarium was missing a lid... which made me concerned about my new 3.5" Golden Loaches that seem to love to race to the top and sometime jump. Commercial solutions with a mesh top are rare and customized acrylic frames are pricy. Most people use a window screen kit for the frame... But I have a Prusa printer...</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>Everything prints upside down. .2mm with supports for the connecting tabs. I used PLA... but PETG or ASA is fine too.</p> <p>I used a 2-part gorilla glue epoxy for joining them. A cyanoacrylate glue would be fine too. Needs to cure at least a day before stretching the mesh with the spline. After 30 minutes curing was complete, I snapped the lid in place to ensure that it cured in the correct shape.</p> <p>The slot is for .14" (36mm) spline for window screening. I used .25" poly propylene mesh for my screen, but any screening material is fine. Pulling the mesh too tight is possible and can cause a slight deflection in the back straight piece - so watch for it. The front bow has more strength due to the arc.</p> <p>There's no a feeding hole, since I can feed through the .25" mesh, but I am considering printing a "window" with a cap for adding anything I don't want to pour through the mesh.</p> <p>I designed this in Fusion 360, and if anyone want's the export, let me know - My work isn't pretty there, but its viable :). The Middle front piece in this upload doesn't have my personalization in the picture.</p>
