25mm Paper Mini Base
thingiverse
This base is designed for use with paper to create highly customizable and affordable miniatures. I prefer not to print out minis for every random creature in a grid encounter, but still want my D&D players to see what they are fighting. Scale a character/monster image to fit a 23 mm width (height is up to your discretion). Add 4 mm to the bottom of the base, which will nest inside it. You can also add additional length for tabs if you prefer to fold the paper under the base and secure it with tape, should the fit not be quite right. Edit: Version 4 includes additional height on the sides for better grip and a directional arrow to indicate which way the mini is facing, if that matters. The opening was also narrowed to 22 mm width to give it more structure. Edit 2: Since the side pillars provide extra support to the paper, version 5 has a 0.4 mm thick layer below the paper so it does not fall through or need to be secured with tape. The slot has been reduced from 0.4 to 0.3 mm to give just a little grip. Edit 3: Version 6 is a completely superior redesign, making the others obsolete, and I hope you enjoy it!
