There's a brand-new version of this featuring interchangeable clamps to hold an even broader range of figures! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2493560 I normally use old Chessex paint pots with washers glued to the tops to keep my miniatures in place while painting. A magnet is glued to the base of each mini to make storing them easier, and it also makes them stick nicely to the top of the pot. This works just fine for plastic figures and small metal ones, but once you get past a certain size, the magnet really doesn't do the trick. So I wanted something the size and shape of one of my old Chessex pots that would physically clamp a figure. A couple of revisions later, here we are. In addition to the printed parts included in this file, you'll need: 1 x M3 hex nut 1 x M3x35 round head machine screw 4 x #6 x 1/2 wood screws (M3.5 x 12) 1 x 16mm marble 2 x bits of rubber I didn't have any marbles, so I used one of the bearings out of the CV joints of an '89 VW Fox, which I just happened to have lying around. My childhood was a bit unusual. The bits of rubber go on either side of the bearing and keep everything from moving. The nut and bolt go through the clamp to tighten it together, and the wood screws go into the holes on top. The nut hole is slightly tapered so it should hold it in place once you've used it the first time. You can also carefully drip some glue down there to keep the little piece of hardware from falling out. Right now this will only hold 25mm round and square bases, but I'm working on a new design that will be able to hold an even wider range of figures.
