7/7/2020 V7 Ah shucks, I was really worried that it would be wobbly when I put it on. So, I drilled holes in mine for set screws and it worked like a charm. So, I've added the same hole spots so this should be firm now. Some screw holes may need to be drilled out, but I kinda liked the snug holes - it helped place the screws easily. When installing, attach MGN12 rail before attaching 2525 bar or else it may not be the correct length if your bar was cut a bit short by millimeters. 7/3/2020 V6 is an alpha release for this thing, and it's functional just how I intended - feels good and fits so beta parts were removed from this thing. Print with confidence. Exact linear rails I used with this thing are available at https://amzn.to/2ZzHIdL The G-code is for Ender 3 Pro with cheap settings on 0.16 rez with 100% infill and supports that only add one hour more - they're not necessary, but precompiled g-code is for people with possibly less skill who also may own an Ender 3 Pro. PRINT SETTINGS! Material: PCL, PLA, ABS... pretty much anything except flexibles. Print at 100% infill. Less infill is probably fine, but for me this has to be strong for everything - and it only takes like ten hours on an Ender 3 Pro. 0.16 if you want your M3 holes nice, or 0.2 if you're not worried about that. WHY DID I MAKE THIS? I didn't want to use dinky 2020 European extrusions that are five times the cost of USA-made 2525 nice thick strong extrusions that are cheaper and faster to get because I live in the USA - and no one was making this for a rail core. WHAT IT IS! This is for connecting the Y rail from an MGN12 linear guide to the butt end of a 2525 extrusion that has the X axes rail mounted to the 2525 extrusion like in a T shape - for core XY machines or other utility with the MGN12 linear guides and 2525 T slot extrusions 25mm x 25mm, or one inch by one inch. EXTRA INFO! There is a small spot twelve millimeters wide for rails and accommodates them even if they protrude from the mount. It's intended that the Y linear guide the MGN12 is mounted flat for core XY - although these could be easily repurposed and are the same for each side and require additional parts to hold the 2525 extrusion on both sides, so just print this twice! It's symmetrical. Use it for other stuff not just three-dimensional printers - pretty easy! Philosophical A somewhat utilitarian part made by a utilitarian. Enjoy! Give me nothing but hope that humanity will someday have some beautiful spaceship gardens. POSSIBLE PROBLEMS! I'm not so sure on the accuracy of the screw holes, but it fits in mine. They are a bit tight, but I kinda like that. This is my first creation. If you want to remix it, please do! Now we can do core XY on 2525 a bit easier, I hope. EXTRA EXTRA EXTRA INFO! The bolt holes are M3. The hole placement is four point five millimeters wide by twelve millimeters long from the corners of the inner MGN12 bevel. Thank you! Enjoy! I hope it works out for me - so if you don't see me forever, it probably works great. =)
