250 size FPV racing quad
thingiverse
I've been flying these racing quads for over a year now, and despite the market being flooded with them, I still think they're an attractive option for anyone looking to get into the game easily with an airframe that can be repaired using home-printed components! The airframe itself is incredibly light and agile, even on 3S batteries, as long as you keep the components to a minimum. The offset motor positions are similar to those found in a popular 450 size quad, which reduces yaw rate but also introduces some pitch along with roll - it seems to work just fine, though. The frame is surprisingly robust and designed to break apart in the event of a hard crash, but don't worry, I've put it through its paces and it's survived drops from as high as 20 feet, cartwheels across fields, and even full-throttle smashes into an old millstone - yes, you read that right! In the unfortunate event of a crash, the arms can be replaced in just minutes, and the multi-part design gives you plenty of options for customization. So go ahead, get creative!
