24V Server Power Supply Case

Overview ======= This is a project to build a high-performance 24V power supply using affordable 12V server power supplies. It features an integrated power meter and is designed to accommodate four XT60 female connectors. Prerequisite ======== To complete this project, two server power supplies need to be modified by bridging two pads with a resistor to initiate operation when AC power is applied. Additionally, the high-side power supply must be altered to isolate the AC ground from the DC ground to prevent short circuits over the AC ground. I employed Philipp Seidel's guide (available in German) for this modification: https://blog.seidel-philipp.de/hp-dps-1200fb-netzteil-umbauen-fuer-ein-lipo-ladegeraet/ WARNING: This modification is hazardous and requires caution, as it involves working with AC voltage. Part List ====== Several online stores are referenced below. Note that some links point to German websites. 2x Server PSU (known compatible models include the HP DPS-1200FB; similar types in 750W or 460W output power can be used, although they differ only in their power rating). The 750W version is available for under €10 on eBay. 1x Y-Cable with a "Kaltgerätestecker" connector (the English equivalent of this type of cable is unclear), available at https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B071X19V98/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Alternatively, you can use any two cables; I opted for a single wall plug. 1x 150A Power Meter: https://www.banggood.com/G_T_Power-150A-High-Precision-Battery-Walt-Meter-And-Power-Analyzer-p-1005954.html?p=A418101362674201503X 4x XT60H Amass Female Plug (use the rounded type, not the one with edges), available at https://www.banggood.com/Amass-XT60H-Plug-Connector-Black-With-Sheath-Housing-Male-Female-1-Pair-p-1181883.html?p=A418101362674201503X Assembly ======== The 3D printed parts should fit snugly, so simply press the power supplies into place. The screw holes are designed for regular M3 screws without additional inserts.
