24mm to 29mm Model Rocket Motor Adapter
thingiverse
Adapter for 24mm model rocket motors in a 29mm motor mount. Designed specifically for use with reloadable casings, or single-use motors featuring a thrust ring. Simple and easy to print, no intricate details required; the internal step within the main casing body is chamfered to ensure optimal overhang print quality. Not compatible with Estes black powder 29mm motors housed in cardboard cases. Successfully tested for compatibility with Aerotech and CTI 24mm cases using an Estes threaded motor retainer. Other brands may lack sufficient thread depth, potentially compromising the adapter's functionality. Printed on my Rostock Max V.2 3D printer. To assemble, insert the main adapter body into the 29mm motor tube, followed by the 24mm motor and aft ring placement. Position the ridge towards the motor for Aerotech cases or away from it for CTI cases. Secure everything in place with an Estes 29mm retainer. All my prints have utilized ABS material, but I did adjust the size slightly after printing to ensure a snug fit. If you're using PLA or experience any sizing issues on your first try, consider scaling up by a few percent to achieve optimal results.
