USE NO LESS THAN 5 BODY TUBES TO ENSURE STABLE FLIGHT I've created a 24mm rocket design, modeled after an Estes D motor, with clearances set up for ABS plastic printing. You'll want to see the video I uploaded to YouTube (https://youtu.be/g1kqXq96jfY) for visual proof of its stability. To date, I've successfully flown two rockets, reaching dizzying heights that left me unable to recover them even with a 36-inch Mylar streamer instead of a parachute. However, both times it was windy. Before launching your own rocket, please take the time to read the instructions for proper construction and assembly. Here are the necessary details: The clearances in this design assume ABS plastic printing; PLA may work fine too, but it's not as precise. All components - nose cone, body tubes, couplers, and launch lugs - should be printed using spiral vase mode or layer printing may yield inconsistent results. However, I managed to fly my rockets successfully using light CA (super glue) for assembly. It's worth noting that there will be slight ridges on the print bed where each tube and coupler were produced; these need to be sanded down with a sanding block before final assembly. During assembly, carefully roll the tubes and couplers around to ensure perfect alignment; misalignment will prevent the rocket from flying straight. Use 5-minute epoxy to glue body tubes together and roll them around on a flat surface for added stability. For additional aerodynamic support and strength, fill gaps between body tubes with a small bead of epoxy. This can be done by placing the tube in a sheet of paper with the epoxy, then rolling it on clean paper until set. To seal off the nose cone tip after spiral vase printing, add a little bit of epoxy - applying it from the back will work best - and roll around gently to even it out.
