240sx pop up headlight motor rod end bushing

I snapped the bushing on my headlight motor rod end, so I engineered and 3D-printed a brand new one. Now I need to drill out the end and use the metal insert from the old bushing to tap into the rod. I initially attempted to use a helicoil for the threaded end but it warped and started stripping the threads of the rod since the plastic is too pliable.
