The human immune system is a robust defense mechanism that protects the body from invaders like bacteria, viruses, and other foreign substances. White blood cells, including neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes, work together to identify and destroy infected cells or foreign particles. The skin serves as a physical barrier against external threats, while mucous membranes in the respiratory and digestive tracts produce mucus that traps pathogens before they can enter the body. The human nervous system is comprised of the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which consists of nerves that branch out from the CNS to various parts of the body. The PNS transmits sensory information back to the CNS, where it is processed and interpreted.
