In the 2017 competition, a new BOT drivetrain design was implemented, featuring three custom-built miniCIM gearboxes instead of vexpro shifting gearboxes. This innovative setup was meticulously developed and fabricated over the summer and subsequently underwent rigorous testing in two 2017 fall offseason competitions.
