22mm Handlebar Mount System for Bike or ATV
thingiverse
I needed a way to install momentary buttons on my Yamaha ATV for a horn button. I wanted something compact that wouldn't be too noticeable once mounted, yet easy to place almost anywhere and put the button in a convenient spot. All hardware is m3. The nuts fit into the mount strap's clamp recess, and there are slots for the nuts to slide into for the flange mounting bolts. Two screws hold the clamp together with m3 x 10, and the screws that will thread into the tab mounting spot vary depending on what you mount to them. There's 5mm of thread in, so if you design a 3mm thick tab like I did, you would use an m3 x 8 screw. If your tab is 5mm thick, you would use an m3 x 10, and so on. The mounting tab included in the download is for momentary buttons purchased off eBay that use a 16mm hole to mount. Any sort of mounting tab could be designed to mount to the clamp system for either a different size hole or something completely different. The mount surface on the clamp is 10mm x 20mm, with screw throw holes spaced 10mm apart. I printed the final clamps with 100% infill ABS for maximum strength and also printed them with a 3% increase in size to account for shrinkage. A 2-3% increase should work well. I noticed that printing with PLA at 2% increase gave me about the same fitment as using a 3% increase with ABS. However, everyone's print settings are different. This is a very quick print job that doesn't use much material, so some test prints may be needed to get the perfect fit. Both my ATV's had 22mm handlebars, and I also have an Argo 6x6 amphibian, so I assume 22mm is the standard size used on most ATV's.
