I've added a third iteration, which includes a latch and windows on the lid. See thing 6480073This is an iteration and, in my opinion, improvement upon my previous 22lr sliding ammo box. I didn't like how deep in the box the ammo sat with my previous version. In this version the ammo is much more exposed when the lid is open. Like the previous version, this box uses a simple compliant mechanism to index the lid at each row of 5 cartridges. It's designed to hold 50 or 100 rounds in trays from Lapua or SK.Two versions are provided. One holds 50 rounds in 1 tray, one holds 100 rounds in 2 trays. Both use the same lid. Both versions can be exported from the included f3d file if modifications are necessary.PLA+ seems to work better than regular PLA due to the compliant mechanism. Supports are necessary. Since I published this a couple other users have designed things to go along with it. AhriFox950 designed an insert to let you use other brands of ammo, published here. convivax also published a slightly different insert and a tool to transfer ammo from other boxes more easily.
