Human: 1 time use .223 / 5.56 (blanks) Animal Deterrent - NON LEATHAL (DO NOT REUSE IF IT HAPPENS TO SURVIVE). This design is minimal and will likely not stay together structurally after firing, so DO NOT USE NEAR HUMANS!!! Always check local laws prior to printing this deterrent, as it's your responsibility to ensure compliance. Sorry if you live in states like NY or California, where the usefulness of this device may be limited. Designed to scare bears and other wildlife away from campsites with a loud deterrent, .223 / 5.56 !!BLANKS!! clevis pin can detonate a primer when triggered. The advantage is that they are light and simple to use, making them easy to backpack without causing injury to the animals. The design produces a loud bang sufficient enough to scare a curious bear away without causing harm to you or wildlife. To load, follow the drawing, strap (zip tie) securely to a small tree facing away from camp and humans (preferably straight down), then run string through and tie to cotter key. Once everything is secure, slide shell into apparatus (BLANK, DO NOT USE PROJECTILE SHELLS!!!) and leave the area, placing warning tape or something to alert humans of the deterrent's presence. Remove safety pin as the last thing you do before exiting. Bear trips line pulls rear cotter key and bang, frightening the bear and causing it to run off without mauling you. However, there is a downside: some bear poo may remain in camp, and possibly even yours too, but no bear will be harmed. DO NOT USE WHILE STUPID, as serious physical danger can result from improper use. Hearing loss, damage to the body, or death can occur if not used carefully. Use at your own risk. DO NOT USE LIVE AMMO!! This falls under "don't be stupid," and death can occur among other things. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE LIVE AMMO, BLANKS only non-projectile!!! (This means no bird shot, sabots, dragons breath, grenades, salt, nickles, etc.) DO NOT USE WHILE STUPID, DRUNK, or anything else that may be detrimental to you or others' health or well-being.
