Neferneferuaten Nefertiti ruled as an Egyptian queen around 1370 - 1330 BC. She was the chief consort of Akhenaten, a powerful Egyptian Pharaoh. Nefertiti and her husband led a revolution that changed how Egyptians worshipped their gods. They believed in only one god, Aten, which is the sun disc. With her husband by her side, she reigned during what many historians consider to be Ancient Egypt's most prosperous time period. Some experts think that after her husband's death, Nefertiti briefly ruled as Neferneferuaten before Tutankhamun took over. However, this theory is still being debated among scholars. If Nefertiti did become Pharaoh, her rule was marked by the downfall of Amarna and the relocation of the capital back to Thebes. Nefertiti held many titles including Hereditary Princess, Great of Praises, Lady of Grace, Sweet of Love, Lady of The Two Lands, Main King's Wife, his beloved, Great King's Wife, his beloved, Lady of all Women, and Mistress of Upper and Lower Egypt. She became well-known for her stunning bust that is now housed in Berlin's Neues Museum. This iconic work is one of the most copied pieces of art from ancient Egypt. The bust was originally created by the skilled sculptor Thutmose and was discovered in his workshop.
