20x20 Spacer
thingiverse
I bought the Falcon CP130 frame and the Spedix IS100 20A Mini-Tower to take my drone building to the next level. The M2 4mm stand-offs provided with the mini-tower were a major headache, as they broke off easily and left no room for an FrSky R-XSR on top of the stack due to their excessive base thickness of 1 mm. This was unacceptable. I took matters into my own hands by tearing apart the cheap Lipo strap that came with the frame and decided to design custom hollowed out spacers, each 4mm tall, to use a single M2 screw of 21mm length for all four corners. I printed these spacers using TPU filament at 100 percent in-fill to ensure maximum strength. Once screwed in, the spacers can compress just enough to allow all board pins to be fully seated, creating ample room on top of the stack for my radio receiver. This was a major breakthrough. I'm planning to apply this same solution to my FlyEgg 130 as well. A tip for fellow drone enthusiasts: if you want to use this spacer for the bottom of your PDB/ESC board, simply chop off the X part and use the four corners as stand-offs to prevent the Lipo strap from being obstructed. This works incredibly well.
