0th Century Boys is a science fiction and mystery manga written and drawn by Naoki Urasawa, author of Monster or Yawara! The series began to be published in 1999 in the magazine Big Comic Spirits of the publishing house Shōgakukan, and that ended with 22 compilation volumes in Japan and in which its last chapters change their title to 21st Century Boys. The story stands out for the complexity of its plot, due to the large number of characters and its length: about 50 years in the timeline of the events recounted and more than 4,000 pages in which Urasawa seems to have planned his work to the millimeter and little by little the reader is checking how the pieces, somewhat confusing at first, are fitting together. It is not just another reading in which the reader is a mere spectator, but the author invites the reader to find out the keys to the mystery, through hidden clues and numerous flash backs, giving the reader the option of multiple possibilities and multiple theories.
