40mm x 20mm tubing insert for joining two lengths in axial compression. I do NOT recommend this for assemblies where bending moments are critical. This part is NOT structural NOR designed for any load over a few pounds. I created this to repair a standing whiteboard. Model was created with Fusion360. I added some features to make the part easier to remove (the old part was very stubborn). I used Fusion to create the gcode as well. I find it's post processor for Anet A8 better than cura. I increased the "number of perimeters" to 6 (0.4mm wall thickness per perimeter) with a 30% gyroid infill to give the part extra strength. I printed the part on its side since FDM parts tend to be anisotropic and stronger in one orientation and the part needs greater performance when in bending along it's smaller moment of inertia. I recommend printing this part on its side (shorter orientation). This part is not designed to take large loads and will perform best in its axial direction under compression.
