20mm test cube with zero tolerance round plug
thingiverse
To ensure precise measurements, I am checking the dimensions of a 20mm test cube. This design includes a 10mm round hole and a matching 10mm round peg, which should fit perfectly together. After printing with Simplify3D's horizontal size compensation set at -0.05mm, I was able to force the plug into the hole, although it was a bit of a tight fit. The external dimensions came out spot on at 19.99 or 20.03mm, and the height was very close at 20.20mm. I used colorfab PLA/PHA filament at 200C and printed on my Lulzbot TAZ6. For added accuracy, I also created a second version of the design with 10mm boxes on each axis to measure internal dimensions.
