20mm t-slot 90 degree joint
thingiverse
For my Prusa2 upgrade to a Mendelmax, I opted not to drill t-slot holes at the top due to limited access to quality tools at uni. Instead, I found a 90-degree joint on Thingiverse and made some enhancements. Firstly, I designed in support within the part for easier removal and less plastic usage during printing. Secondly, the ridge between two rods ensures perfect alignment. However, I couldn't help but notice that the accompanying SCAD file was far from ideal; it lacked parametric functionality and was hastily put together. After printing, simply snap off the support with pliers or a knife, push into the t-slot, bolt in place, and you're done. Despite printing mine slightly too hot, requiring minor filing of the ridge and top overhang adjustment, the final result functions flawlessly.
