20mm Mods for Rotor Riot CL1 Frame
prusaprinters

I recently built a quad based on the Rotor Riot CL1 frame. I wanted to have a low profile, so I replaced the 30mm standoffs with 20mm ones. To give it a clean and custom look, I designed these mods to help protect and mount things.

So far, I've created:

Side panels - the right one has an xt60 holder, the left one has an opening to give access to the USB port on the FC. Both have openings for motor wires to go through. Eventually I'll upload one with no opening, so you can customize it however you want.

Camera mounts - these are sized for a micro camera, in this case a Foxeer Arrow Micro V2. You'll need to print 2 and mirror one of them.

VTX mount - this is a raised plate (with built-in standoffs) that has 20x20 mounting holes to match the holes at the rear of the frame. The plate has slots that you can use for tie wraps or you can just use double sided tape.

Antenna mount and protector - this will mount and protect a stubby antenna.

All parts modeled in Fusion 360. I'm sure some will want to use these as a starting point for their own designs. As soon as I figure out how to share the project, I will.

Update: The parts that I originally printed in PLA did not fare so well in a crash - granted, it was a HARD crash :). Anyway, when I rebuild the quad, I'm going to print the parts in PETG, and maybe beef some of them up. If you're not someone who crashes a lot (I'm a total noob), the original parts would probably hold up okay in PLA.

Edit: Added landing feet and a couple of variations on the side panel.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

20%

Filament: zyltech pla - not recommended, try petg red

Notes:

Everything is designed to print easily without supports, as long as you orient the parts logically. I did use a brim on the antenna mount because it had very little contact area on the bed in relation to its size.

Category: R/C Vehicles
