20mm Layered Dual Extrusion Test Cube
cults3d
This is a 20mm cube with offset layers for testing both the steps and offset calibration on dual extruder setups. #How to use! Print the cube with dual extruders. Mark how it faces on your platform. Most Marlin or RepRap firmwares define the build platform as follows: BACK |------------| L | (+) Y | E | | F | (-) X (+) | T | | | (-) Y | |------------| FRONT Using this chart we will measure the offsets with a caliper. Measure the distance between the color layers in each direction and note them down. On mine the black on extruder 1 was offset 0.12mm to X- So we would use M218 T1 X0.12 to move the nozzle 0.12mm to X+ to correct this. You can see the command usage here: http://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M218.html After adjusting use M500 to save the setting and print again! You can also use the cube to set steps per mm if it prints too small or too large. See http://marlinfw.org/docs/gcode/M092.html for setting steps #Thank you! Like and enjoy!
