2080 profile spool holder
thingiverse
Here is a custom design spool holder that hangs the filament off the top of the Tevo Black Widow frame without adding much overall height to the printer. There are a couple of different designs as pictured, and I've personally only printed the plain frame and the tall spindle ends. After printing, I made adjustments to the file. The tubing used is pvc pipe with an outer diameter of 21.5mm cut to length. The spindle ends fit very tightly and won't come out once fitted. Hanging the spindle off the top rear of the frame like I've done in the pictures adds a lot of extra pulling weight to the frame, so make sure it's nice and secure or you may get some movement in your prints. The spool holder fits tightly, but you can hook the small kick part underneath first and then lower the frame over the back. Print Settings: * Printer: Tevo Black Widow * Rafts: Yes * Supports: Yes * Resolution: 0.2 * Infill: 20% How I Designed This I had two requirements: the filament had to be positioned over the printer without adding lots of extra height, and the holder had to be attached securely without using T-Nuts or fasteners. I measured out the 2080 profile and designed it in Autodesk Maya. After printing a thinner test print without the crossframe, I found the design was already pretty strong, but it flexed a lot. However, it held over 1kg on its own. After printing the full design with the crossframes, the thing doesn't move at all.
