When I first got my hands on the little Kingroon Kp3 printer, I was searching for a reliable spot to grasp in order to move it around comfortably. Most people seem to grab hold of the extruded Z-Axis location, which is fine as long as you don't apply too much force and risk breaking it. However, I found that this spot often led me to accidentally grasp the z-rod as well, a problem that was getting old fast. My concern was also that I might bend the rod by mistake. To address these issues, I came up with a solution. Since I have taps and dies at my disposal, I decided to thread M5 bolts into the aluminum mount. This will provide a sturdy grip for moving the printer around without risking damage to the z-rod or bending it out of shape. In the near future, I plan on designing another version of this mount that incorporates M5 bolts with t-nuts, making it accessible to those who don't have access to a tap and die set.
