This thing is a replacement knob for folks whose OEM knobs seem to be breaking. The first is a simple 1-piece design. Print it flat side down, no supports, in any color you like. If the round one is too plain for you I have added a second version that has some ribs on the knob and an accent ring on the face. I have just completed the 2-piece design if you want contrasting colors like the black and silver of the OEM knob. To make one of these print the 2-piece base and 2-piece trim ring models. Print them both as oriented... print the trim ring without supports and the base with supports. The trim ring face on the bottom will be the smoothest so have that facing out when you glue it onto the base. Since vehicle interiors get very hot in summer PLA is probably not the best choice. Better to print these in PETG, ABS, or some other material that can withstand 140 degrees F or so. Edit: I just added a reinforcing sleeve that you can slip over the existing knob shaft socket to make it stronger. Just add a little glue on the wings to stick to the existing wings. Be careful not to slop a lot of glue on the bottom or it might obscure the translucent ring that lets the instrument panel light through. I used some JB Weld Quick to glue mine on and wadded a little paper towel in between the new part and the knob to press it into the existing whilst setting. Edit 2: I just added a piece that you can use to repair your broken OEM knob. The file name includes the word "repair". Use a Dremel tool to cut out or grind out the broken center shaft gripper then use a sanding disc to smooth out where you cut it. Then glue in this repair shaft gripper. Use 3M super glue for plastic or JB weld epoxy for plastic for best results.
