2020 Threaded Rod Brace
thingiverse
I really liked Butchja's 2020 frame brace design from 2020 and wanted to use threaded rods widely available at my local hardware stores instead. So, I modified his file to accept 3/8" threaded rods readily available at home improvement stores near me. However, I also designed a new OpenSCAD file to replicate the original design as closely as possible. The included STL file is for the 3/8" threaded rod at a 45-degree angle, easily accessible in most hardware stores today. About the OpenSCAD file: * The OpenSCAD file has some hardcoded numbers inside the main rendering function and works perfectly. * The nut inset needs to be adjusted so that nuts don't go too far down into the frame. * Only certain angles will work with this OpenSCAD file, as there are no checks in place for out-of-bound angles. * I'm not familiar with rounded edges in OpenSCAD yet, but that shouldn't cause any issues.
