2020 Mountable Mechanical Filament Sensor with Bowden Connector
thingiverse
This utilizes a mechanical endstop as a filament sensor. I adapted one found on Thingiverse by adding mounting points for a 2020 extrusion and a bowden PC4-M6 fitting, since that's what I am using. The filament passes through this assembly and when it triggers an empty condition, it can send a signal to the printer for a filament change. Set it to Pin 7 with Normally Open and a 250 debounce setting, and you should be ready to go!
